It was heartening to meet so many new buccaneers this year – there were about twice as many pirates as last year. In addition to the groups that were there last year, there were the St. Augustine crew Pirates AAAR Forever, the Royal Chessman from Ft. Lauderdale, several pirates from Georgetown, SC, buccaneers from the Contraband Days festival in Lake Charles, LA (including Jean Lafitte himself), and more that I probably wasn’t aware of. Many pirates, near & far, came on their own. Even another member of our California group, Louie Lambie, worked the Alaskan waters several extra weeks so he’d have enough doubloons to attend, and was very happy he did.

Patches McGee (I wouldn't trust that smile -- would you?)
A very exhuberant pirate -- I think he just scored a
hole-in-one at the Pirates Miniature Golf
(Blackpowder Pete, with Cannonball Bill cracking up in the background)

Jean Lafitte (aka Dr. Barry Cranford) traveled all the way from Lake Charles, LA, standing in front of Don Maitz's advertising art for Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum.

Grace O'Malley, captain of the "Sea Horse", displays her "wanted" poster. Many wanted posters of various pirates and crews were to be found, mysteriously popping up here and there. See a couple more wanted posters.

X marks the spot!!
(this is the lovely backside of Harlot Love)

Left: Tim Dillinger from South Carolina
Right: I'm not sure who this is, but he looked fabulous as a poor imitation of
Martha Washington in drag..

Left: Louie Sanschagrin is thrilled to be in Key West
(he came all the way from the Pacific Coast)
Right: Salacious shanty-singer Bawdy Be, and photographer Carol Foldvary-Anderson

One of the local pirates introduces himself to Louie.

Left: Capt. Bartholomew Roberts
Right: Luigi D'Amore, captain of the Lamb Shark

Left: Tiger Jim (aka Jim Rockwell) sings and plays his
bodhran.
Right: Captain Grace O'Malley, wondering if she'll ever get her crew in
line.

Left: Quartermaster Trolls enjoys his rum!
Right: Black Powder Pete watches a combat in the Fight Circle, and knows
he could do better.

A couple of the Pyrates Royale -- Long John Skivee & the lovely Peg O'Riley (don't let that loveliness fool you)

This is Love, one of the harlots -- Faith, Love and Charity .

A good looking rogue.

Long John Skivee and Drake Mallard of the Pyrates Royale.

Left: Spitfire and Black Powder Pete
Right: Abigail O'Flaherty was the scribe. She carried about her
log book, pen and ink bottle with her whereever she went. She wrote down
everything -- constantly. She had the ink stains on her fingers and
clothes to prove it!
Here's Abigail's logbook.

I'm not quite sure what these lasses are doing with Cannon Ball Bill, but it sure looks like they're having fun. (Perhaps they might be tryin' ta see if he is "regimental" or not).

A couple of the "On the Lam" pirates from Orlando.

Michael MacLeod, and a couple of his fine-feathered friends (his look of consternation may be because the green parrot had just bitten through the links of his necklace chain, and now he's wondering what other damage this bird will do)
See much more
