-- No Quarter Given PYRACY PUB --
Pyrate newcomer Ford Vox has joined the No Quarter Given staff as producer and administrator of the sorely needed No Quarter Given Pyracy Pub, a forum for all you scurvy rogues out there. Now, you can post questions, announcements of treasures you've found, share rum recipes, connect with other shipmates, and just carry on a rousin' dialog of anything piratical.
-- Pirates Email List --
The Pirates Email List (established and managed by Tony Malesic) is where list members can communicate via email with other members regarding the subject of piracy on the high seas and related topics. Many piratical/nautical historians and researchers participate in this list. If you are a serious student of piracy, or would like to learn more about piracy, this is the list for you. Though the postings to the Pirates Email List vary in number from day to day, there are often a dozen or more messages per day. Sometimes the discussion gets rather heated - and then the number of messages increase accordingly.
When first you sign up for this list, you might like to lurk for a while (just read the posted messages without responding) to get a lay of the land, so to speak. When you feel ready to add your own input or questions, you might introduce yourself to the others, with a little background, and why you were interested in joining the list.
- To subscribe to the list, simply send an email message to: majordomo@listbox.com
- Leave the subject line blank, and in the text of the message simply type: subscribe pirates
- No other information should appear in the text (Be sure to delete a signature block if you use one).
- After subscribing, any postings to the list should be addressed to: pirates@listbox.com
Later, if you wish to unsubscribe,
repeat steps 1-3, only in step 2, type unsubscribe pirates instead.
--- Pirates-L EList ---
For a list which allows for a more open and free-wheeling
discussion on any & all Pirate issues, those interested may like to try: Pirates-L@eGroups
http://www.egroups.com/group/Pirates-L
It's usually not very busy yet, but discussion there is open to anything to do with Pirates.
They have also set up an IRC
channel: #Pirates!
You can access this channel by logging on to any Dalnet server.
If you're not set up for IRC, just go to http://www.mirc.com
download the latest version of mirc and you're in business!
If you don't understand this you might try emailing Kev at: bluejohn@nycap.rr.com for help.
-- No Quarter Given Online Newsletter --
Whether or not you are a subscriber to the No Quarter Given magazine, you are invited to sign up for the NO QUARTER GIVEN Online Newsletter. And 'tis FREE! We keep a weather eye out for late breaking news of piratical or nautical interest, such as events, shipwreck discoveries, movies in the works, TV shows airing, & museum exhibits. Then we send word out to you, as needed, perhaps a few times per month. If ya want ta join the Email crew, jus' send word to us at: jamaica@noquartergiven.net . If you have any news of a piratical nature that you wish to share, again, send word to us.
-- Jolly Roger Discussion Group --
There is a piratical discussion group located at: alt.culture.jollyroger . Subscribe to this group through your email program. You can read messages posted there, reply to them, and post your own. Messages remain for a few days at a time. There seems to be no one monitoring posted messages, so non-piratical, give-me-your-money type messages so up frequently.
-- Pirate Postcards --
Once you've made a scurvy friend 'er two through one of the above connections, you might wish to send them a friendly (or not-so-friendly) greeting using these rollickin' Pirate Postcards. 'Tis easily done, and it's FREE! http://www.users.wineasy.se/chaos.productions/postcard/card.htm
