Fitts, James Franklin, Captain Kidd's Gold[White Horse Publishing, 2001]  Reprinted and slightly edited from the 1888 edition, follow the adventures of Paul Jones Garry as he solves the puzzle of Captain Kidd's lost treasure.#

Ransome, Arthur, Swallows and Amazons, There are nine sequels (Swallowdale is the 2nd book). Great stuff. I've been reading chapters to my four and eight-year-olds nightly. The stories are way cool, but the best part is that my kids are now using words such as thwart, painter, boom, rudder, centerboard, main sheet, catspaws, etc. They now have a genuine interest in small boats and adventure on the high seas that had been eluding them in any detail until now. Love the books! A video is also available. [Reviewed by Joseph Ditler]#

Yolen, Jane, The Ballad of the Pirate Queens
